About David Abel
Having won a Kodak competition at Olympia, London, at the young age of 12 years, my love for photography was born. The prize was my first ever camera - a Kodak Brownie 127.
For many years professional wedding photography was a key source of income (London Wedding Company Ltd). Very keen on portraiture and enthusiastic as an all-round photographer.
For relaxation, nature photography has to be my favourite pastime. Now more than delighted to share my knowledge, and post processing techniques at an affordable cost.
The 'experiences' are either half day, or whole day.
The week BEFORE the photo shoot we enjoy a brief webinar where everything will be explained in detail.

(1) Butterfly Experience, Stratford Upon Avon - Date to be Arranged
Join nature photographer David Abel
for an online instructional webinar and then a half-day photo experience at Butterfly Farm, Stratford Upon Avon, in Warwickshire. With David’s photography instruction before the experience, and a vast array of beautiful butterflies to photograph, you will capture utterly amazing images!
This Experience is suitable for all skill levels!
Whatever the weather stroll through the wonderful world of a unique and exotic, rainforest environment; a lush landscape of tropical blossom, splashing waterfalls and fish-filled pools. You will have the opportunity to see the world's most spectacular and colourful butterflies bought to you from the rainforests of the tropics!
The landscaped tropical greenhouse is the largest tropical butterfly display in the UK! Throughout the year there are over 250 different species of tropical butterfly sourced from 20 different countries. There are approximately 2,000 free flying individual butterflies, of all shapes, sizes and colours. Sometimes there are a few more, sometimes a few less. More than 3,000 butterflies from around the world flutter among the lush tropical plants and flowers, landing for just long enough to capture the perfect photograph.

This All Inclusive resort
is situated around 12 miles from the island’s capital, Bridgetown. Our hotel is located on St James Beach on the west coast of Barbados. It is a plantation style hotel, true to its original décor and has remained relatively unchanged since opening. It has a charming, relaxing atmosphere and lush tropical grounds.
The rooms are basic but feature a TV and air conditioning. The airport is located approximately 15 miles away.

Which Camera To Use
It's not the camera, it’s the user
that makes the difference
There are of course cameras and lenses that will greatly enhance your experience, but if you are just starting out a mobile phone will take excellent images.

The Butterfly farm is one such location that will lend itself to any mobile phone camera.
DSLRs (75mm or 100mm fixed lens) will provide amazing photos.
The Kingfisher and BIG CAT experience will suit a DSLR with either a zoom lens (70mm-300mm) or a 300mm, 400mm fixed lens.
The Butterfly Experience or Kingfishers is a great place to commence, with any modern camera. You will quickly learn what works best for you and you will have the opportunity to use a Canon DSLR, and gain some valuable experience.
